Welcome to the Feeling Sound Musiclab - an on-line laboratory to find out more about how we listen to music.

Anyone of any age can take part in a series of experiments in the musiclab - you don't have to play a musical instrument and it doesn't matter what kind of music you like listening to. You just need about 20 minutes to complete the experiments and a pair of headphones or good computer speakers so that you can hear the tests clearly. All we ask is that you only complete the experiment once, and that you find some quiet time to do it all in one go.

By taking part you will have an opportunity to vote for the UK's favourite chord. This will be written into a new piece and performed at a public event at the Royal Institution on Wednesday 6 May to celebrate the announcement of the first results from Musiclab.
